As a long time shareholder, I never thought twice about the opening hours of the store until I attempted to become a client.
What a nightmare that was for my family and I. I consider myself an average homeowner, mid 30s, 2 kids, a wife and a 9-5 job (we both work).
On my first attempt, I arrived at 8pm on a Thursday, assuming they would be open like any other store, and they were not.
On my second attempt, the following day, I had made a plan. I would finish work, rush to the daycare to get the kids, serve them up a frozen pizza and get to the store for 6:30pm latest. That would leave me 30mins to look around. Not great, but better than nothing.
The plan fell to pieces – It just doesn’t work, not with the 2 kids, traffic, and a stop to fill up the gas along the way. I arrived at 7:00, just as they locked the doors.
As a die-hard shareholder, I did end up making my order – on a Saturday, after my kid’s swimming lessons. The store was quite busy with other people who probably encountered the same problem as me and, to be honest, this affected the experience. The staff was a bit overwhelmed and couldn’t spend the time with my wife and I that we would have liked..
My suggestion to management is to keep those stores open a few hours longer, at least on Thursday/Friday evening (9pm).
All other large chains do it for a reason, and most clients expect it.TomGuestMarch 20, 2019 at 9:35 pmPost count: 89455RebuildLLAdminKeymasterApril 14, 2019 at 10:29 pmPost count: 5
